Important – New Mexican Rules of Economic Competition

Dear Clients and Friends:

Please be advised that on May 23, 2014, the Ministry of Economy published on the Official Gazette of the Federation the Decree that issues the Mexican Federal Law of Economic Competition (Decreto por el que se expide la Ley Federal de Competencia Económica). The purpose of this law is to promote, protect and ensure free and economic competition, as well as to prevent, investigate, fight/combat, impose sanction and penalties and eliminate monopolies and monopolistic practices, illicit concentrations, barriers to free competition and antitrust, and other restrictions on the efficient functionality of markets. The provisions of the corresponding law will be in effect forty five days after its publication.
